Scripture matters. Scripture makes all the difference between life and death. We need to be clear on the nature and the distinctiveness of our Bible and to do that we need to understand there are three categories of information that exist: General Revelation, Special Revelation, and Knowledge. The doctrine of God is one of the most necessary and practical doctrines. Nothing is more central than our relationship with God in our lives. Therefore it is worthwhile to contemplate this doctrine. Anthropology, the study of man, requires a biblical worldview. We can claim we have a biblical worldview, but if we do not see things the exact way or categorize things the exact way the Bible does, then we do not have a biblical worldview. In our human nature, we are inherently materialists and naturalists. Although we acknowledge there is a supernatural world and that there is God, we look at everything as having a natural cause. But we often fail to recognize the world has a supernatural dimension. When it comes to the nature of Christ, there is so much to discuss. Christ is fully man and fully God. He is affirmed in the Old Testament as Yahweh. He fulfills the prophecy of coming to this world born of a virgin. He is the solution to evil. But one thing that might not come across your mind is that Christ is destiny. The doctrine of sin, hamartiology, is not as simple as it seems. Throughout Scripture, there is a vast amount of knowledge given to us about the depths of the depravity of man.
